Getting started

Last updated: October 8, 2026

From installing the app to sharing your first card, this guide follows the order you will actually meet things: what each feature does, where the setting lives, and where people tend to get stuck. Everything here ships today.

1. The three tabs

There are three tabs at the bottom. On the left, "Me" holds your own cards; in the middle, "Cards" stores everyone you have met; on the right, "Discover" is where the features live. You only need the first two to get going.

  • "Me": your own cards, editing and sharing.
  • "Cards": other people's cards, organised into folders, with search.
  • "Discover": templates, AI tools, card import, settings.

2. Registering and signing in

Either an email address or a phone number works. The only difference is how you receive your code: email or SMS. You can sign in right away, or look around before you commit.

  • If a code does not arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder before requesting another.
  • On the same device you can switch between accounts under Settings → Account → Switch account.
  • Forgot your password? Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in screen and reset it with the email or number you registered.

3. Creating your first card

"Discover" offers four ways in: the template library, create with AI, import a card, and the card editor. For a first run, start with the guided creation flow — it walks you through the whole thing.

Fill it in yourself

Go field by field in the editor. The basics are name, headline, company, bio, phone, email, website and address.

  • Tap any field to edit it in place — no digging through nested screens.
  • Open the preview to see the real result, then jump back to adjust.

Start from a template

If you would rather not begin from a blank card, pick a template and change colours and styling afterwards.

Let AI draft it

Describe what you want in "Create with AI" and you get a draft to edit into your own.

4. Importing a paper card

A stack of paper cards is a lot of typing. Use Import card under Discover.

Photograph or pick an image

Take a photo of a paper card and AI pulls out the name, headline, company, phone, email and the rest into an editable card. Front and back can be captured together.

  • Shoot one flat, evenly lit photo. Glare, shadows and creases are what make recognition fail.
  • Portrait or landscape both work — the app works out the orientation.
  • Review every field before saving. AI output is a draft, not a final answer.

Scan a QR code

If their card has a QR code, scan it and it lands straight in your collection — no photo needed.

Import from a file

Got a vCard file? Choose Add from file under Import card (visible on desktop).

5. Making the card look right

Appearance is handled in the editor, and both sides can have their own background.

  • Upload an image for each side; backgrounds can be a solid colour, a gradient or a pattern.
  • "Flip style" decides how a card turns: 3D flip, fade or rotate. Pick whichever feels natural.
  • For several images at once, use the gallery module.
  • Tags cover region, gender, MBTI and identity, and you can type your own.

6. Sharing

Give the card a public ID first — without one the link will not open. Then head to the share page.

Share the link

Every card gets its own link that opens a web page, so it works for people who never installed the app. This is the easiest way to share.

QR code

Save the QR code as an image, or open the customisation page to change its colours and style. Scanning works well face to face.

Export as an image

For group chats, social posts or printing, export the card as an image.

  • Five styles: full-length image, front only, back only, front and back side by side, front and back stacked.
  • Four backgrounds: page background, transparent PNG, plain white, dark.
  • High-resolution output, handed straight to the system share sheet.

7. Collecting other people's cards

Cards pile up fast once you start meeting people. Folders keep them findable, and folders can nest.

  • When creating a folder you can set a title, description and accent colour — "Spring Expo 2026", "Shanghai · friends".
  • Folders hold sub-folders, so you can layer by company, region or time.
  • The search box finds someone by name or company without browsing.
  • Batch select, move and delete make tidying up much faster.
  • Sort by name or date added, ascending or descending. Column count is adjustable too.

8. Appearance and language

All of this lives in Settings.

  • Theme mode: light or dark, following the system or set by you.
  • Theme colour: change the accent.
  • Font size: adjust text size on its own.
  • Language: the app supports Chinese and English.

9. Your data and account

Everything account-related sits under Settings → Account, and you stay in control.

  • Delete account: you get a list of exactly what will be removed before anything happens, then confirm with the email or number on the account — plus your password if you have one.
  • There is a 24-hour grace period afterwards. Your data stays intact during it. To cancel, email info@kiraify.cn with the email or number you registered and we will verify and undo it.
  • Once the grace period ends and deletion is confirmed, your profile, cards and uploaded images are removed.
  • Public links you already shared stop resolving once the card is gone.

10. When something goes wrong

Most issues are a stale cache or an expired session. Work through these in order — you will usually not need to contact us.

Try these first

  • Clear the cache in Settings, then reopen the app.
  • If uploads or syncing keep failing, sign out and back in.
  • Recognition failing on a photo is usually glare or shadow — try a different angle.
  • A link that will not open: check whether the card has a public ID set.

Still stuck? Send feedback

If none of that worked, please tell us from the Help and Feedback screen. Describe what you were trying to do and what actually happened — we read every report.
